Dogs!

It's a Shitzu, well at least that's what Google says. Isn't it 'awww-tastic'? Kawaii!

That Maltese is so damn adorable? Ain't it?

My friend had me looking up dogs in Google and poof! I decided I'd put the cutest pictures of dogs I find in my blog. The reason behind it is to make me go 'awww' on days I'd most likely end up killing someone. :)

January 31, 2010 - Sunday

I've got nothing to say about what happened to me today but I have got something to say about this particular day. If it doesn't make sense, I probably said it wrong but I hope you get what I mean by the end of this. :)

''Thirty days has September,
April, June and November,
All the rest has thirty-one,
Except February alone,
Which has 28 days clear,
And 29 in each leap year.''

When I looked at the date in my mobile yesterday, I began singing that, attempting to figure out how many days January has. Ever since I was a child, I would sing that song to remind me of the days in a month, which ones had thirty days, thirty-one days and the special one with only twenty-eight days.

January has thirty-one days. And today was the 31st. Would you believe it? We are already one month into the year 2010.

Thirty-one days has passed already, wow, some may say. While others would wonder, ONLY thirty-one days has passed? I thought of which one would suit me, the positive view or the negative view of things and, was there an 'in-between'? The 'in-betweener' would probably say, though only thirty-one days has passed, I know I've made the best out of those days. That's what I want to be saying at the end of every month.

I wanna make the best out of 2010 and by that, I need to make the best out of every month too, I need to be able to make the best of every week and the best of every single day.

I promise to try my best this month to make every day count so that, by the end of February, I can give myself a pat in the back and honestly say to myself, 'You've done so well.'

January 30, 2010 - Saturday

It was a glorious day, honestly - at least that was what I thought as I looked out the window. Once you step outside though, woah, it's a whole different feeling - I was freezing. Enough about the weather, i'm no weather woman after all.
It was around 10 am that I slightly woke up. Like, come on, who would be able to sleep with the shouts of my brothers? They were late for their YFC meeting. But then once their voices were gone, I fell asleep again. I didn't wake up until 12 or something. My mother was at work and my brother were gone, so, in other words, I was pretty much alone
Just me and this old, rotten house. But no worries, we're going to be leaving this house in two weeks. Did I tell you that? No, don't think so. So yeah, the house we're moving to is sorta further away from my bus stop to school, which sucks. It basically means I'm going to have to get up earlier. Crap. It's also a bit far away from my friends' houses and the shops - Tesco and that lot. Besides those things, the house is okay. It's a new one, so the walls are newly painted, things are immaculately white unlike here where things are falling apart and in bits.
Kat decided to come over before she went to town. We were watching funny videos, hitmanbreakeroftheye, and looking at some funny pictures I discovered in the net, 9gag. Then Jere came over too. We stopped by Kuya Ikoy's dance practice. Then Kat had to go. We waited with her for her bus. Then at around 6, Jere and all had their dance practice while I watched. I came home right in time, which was pretty lucky. We started moving our things to the new house that night. It was the first time I saw the house and I thought to myself then that, besides the location, it's damn better than this one.

January 25 - 29, 2010

Whatta sorta hectic week. I never got the chance to write a blog for each day 'cause my 'computer time' was very limited.

Anyway, this is from the 25th to the 29th, Monday to Friday. Please, bear with me 'cause I have forgotten a load of stuff that happened.

Monday : It wasn't the horrible Monday that I had imagined. Was actually pretty fine, that's as far as I remember and I don't remember much. When I arrived home from school, the new television was there. Wooo! Looked so cool; haha.

Tuesday : The thing I remember about Tuesday was that we were sent home early from school because of the staff meeting. Then when my friend left the bus, she forgot her bread which she baked in Home Economics class by her seat. I don't have Home Economics, btw. We decided to go down at the next bus stop to give it to her but we missed two bus stops. But in the end, she had it back in her hands. We decided to walk home from there, you know, burn some calories.

Wednesday and Thursday : Shite, I don't remember anything. This is the reason why I really should you know, put up a DAILY day entry as in I write on it DAILY.

Friday : I always liked Fridays. Especially this one. It was Haitian Flag Day in my school. Which meant we decorate our school uniform with the colors of the Haitian flag, blue and red, and in exchange we donated. The collected amount will be given to the Haiti Appeal. This is sorta unusual, but the feeling of helping people who are really in need feels, feels fulfilling.
After school, Kat invited me to this gig thing. It ended at around 11, I really had fun but I was exhausted. Then, Bucoy went over to our house. We watched this DVD. The Perfect Stranger. It's a kind of mystery film and in the end of it, we were like, no way? We had totally different ending expectations and, none of us were right. A really interesting movie though. I recommend it.
There was another DVD in line after that, a horror film it was. It started at around 2 but I was knackered. I only managed to watch the first bit of it before I fell asleep on the sofa.
Next thing I know, the room is dark, everyone was asleep and it was 6 o'clock in the morning. I got up, still haven't changed my clothes from the gig, went to my bed and collapsed.

Tetris

Tetris is extremely addictive. I could never reach level 15. I always landed in or around level 10. Ugh, I suck at this.
But somehow I still enjoy it.

January 24, 2010 - Saturday

This was meant to be written last night straight when I got home but i'm so sorry because laziness took over me.

I planned of waking up early, early as in 9:30 for Jaia's birthday. I woke up suddenly at around 8:45 but then said to myself that I had a bit more time left. I returned to sleep thinking i'd wake up to my alarm. But no.

Next thing I knew it was 11. I started calling Katlyn but she wouldn't answer so I tried calling Jordan. Luckily he answered but he told me that Katlyn wasn't coming to town so instead of getting ready I went to the laptop to surf the web. My plans changed when she texted me at around 1 saying we should go to town. So yeah, after all of that, we did go to town in the end.

City Centre was filled with people. It was a Saturday no wonder. You had to squeeze in to get past people.

I met Kat in Jervis then we headed for Cine World

We had to wait for Sherlock Holmes, the movie they were watching, to finish so we looked for something to pass our time with.

The line was seriously long. We queued up but once we were near the top we changed plans and decided to go to Five Star instead. Stupid much? Yeah

We spent an hour in Five Star but we didn't play Dota. Stupid Garena failed to work. Then once we went outside it was freezing so we decided to run. It seemed as if I was a robber chasing after her. We bought the Sub of the Day, yum ham, and ate it over in Jervis. We waited for Ica and her fella over there before we went to Burger King in Ilac to meet with the people.

It was like a little reunion outside Burger King. Hugs here and there and everywhere. Our crowd stood outside Ilac by the stoplights for a while just talking and stuff. Then we moved over to outside Dr. Quirkey's. We were there for more than an hour before we decided to go home. We said our goodbyes and then separated.

We didn't do much really but somehow, it was fun. It won't be after another few weeks before I see them again. I'll surely miss them. :)

9gag

It was last night when I discovered this brilliant website filled with tons and tons of funny pictures that will make you laugh your head off. 9gag is an absolutely brilliant site and I recommend it to everyone, particularly to someone who needs a bit of laughter in their lives.

I've saved a couple of my favorite ones that are taken from 9gag.

Here's a few:

You gotta admit that pie chart is damn true.

I mean, the hairdresser is sorta right.

Definitely my favorite one of all.

Roseanne Tan Dizon

Oh, did I ever tell you my full real name? I don't think so; I don't remember doing it.

Well, it's Roseanne Tan Dizon.
Roseanne being my first name.
Tan being my mother's maiden name.
And Dizon being my surname.

Roseanne actually means 'graceful rose'.
Believe me, I never thought of myself as being a 'graceful rose'. I don't even think of myself as being graceful. I was never that kind of person. I don't always do things gracefully or lady-like for that matter. I don't really move gracefully, daintily. And I most definitely not have movements a princess would have.

Tan is actually a Chinese surname while Dizon is actually a variant of the Spanish surname Izón. My mother's grandfather is Chinese so I guess that is where the Chinese part of me came from. My mother tells me that my brothers and I are  Chinese though I honestly only know one thing in Chinese which is 'ni hao'.

Just wanted to share this. I'll type more random things later. Cause hey, it's Friday!

Swine Flu Vaccination!

Which reminds me, I'm getting my vaccination tomorrow and i'm terrified, extremely terrified. I hate needles and I've got this horrible feeling i'm gonna embarrass myself big time when I scream my lungs out when I see that needle thing. I'll tell you exactly how it goes tomorrow but for now, I really have to go to sleep. Goodnight and wish me luck~

January 19, 2010 - Tuesday

Laziness is taking over me so I guess today`s 'diary entry' will just have to be in bullet points.

Forced myself to get out of bed once again, would much rather stay in bed though.

Damn my school shoes, annoying the hell out off me, too loose.

∙Had an argument with a school mate while walking to school about Ireland giving two million euro to the people of Haiti and not having the money left to put grit on roads - they're in critical condition, like duh, they need the money more than us.

∙Did the usual school stuff.

By the second last class I was extremely tired, almost fell asleep in class.

∙Arrived home, collapsed in the sofa and around an hour later, woke up to orders.

Finished my homework, chatted to a friend on the phone, had dinner and now i`m here.

Huh, seems like a really short day but it's not. I'm actually looking forward to go to bed. Like, no way, right? Oh well, I better go now. *yawns*

Please oh please Lord, give me a better day tomorrow. Thank you.

P.S. This is my tenth blog post!

Double P.S. Oh crap, it's ONLY my tenth blog post, seems like I've written loads.

Old Pictures I Discovered

After seeing this picture I was like 'awww' and then 'damn it'. I miss my hair. I really, really do. I remember that day, they were saying that Ica and I looked alike when we were turned around so to prove it to us, they took a picture. It was Xavier's despedida. :)

My hair! I look different.

A List Of Random Things About Me

This, as you may already know, is the effect of boredom to me. :)

1. Beware, when I am feeling sleepy, there is a great tendency that I become hyper or become possessed (possibly by an evil thing called 'Me'). How can you get possessed by yourself? Why are you asking me?

2. Due to stupidity, I have pushed many, many doors that had a sign saying 'Pull'.

3. I absolutely love to eat spaghetti with no sauce. As in, just the pasta itself. Yum yum yum

4. There will be moments where I laugh for no reason and start to laugh because of that. Complicated? No. Funny? Maybe. Weird? Damn right.

5. My secret weakness in a guy is his hair. I bet you're thinking, ''Secret? But you just said it.'' You see, i'm SECRETLY psychic too (no, not really).

Currently running out of ideas so i'll continue this next time. ;]

January 18, 2010 - Monday

I never liked Mondays but this Monday wasn't too bad.

When my alarm went off this morning, I had to literally drag myself out of bed but you know what, once I was at school, things weren't as horrible as I thought they'd be. Like, only four classes for the day but it got even better when one of them turned out to be a free class.
The 5th year parent-teacher meeting was on today so that meant an early finish. To make things better, I missed the terror subjects. I guess luck is on my side today. :)

By 12:30, Jenise and I were already in town. The place looked deserted compared to when it was Saturdays where you have to squeeze through people. Squeezing through people was never a problem for me though, I'm particularly small.

So yeah, we went around town for a while just talking. Then we got hungry and went over to McDonald's where we spent ages just having a laugh. We headed to Jervis, to have a look at the shops and that was really it.

I have to say that the best thing about today is the sun. It was shining all day long and it's still is. The newspaper says that sunset will be at around 16:41. I'll have a look of that later. The sun makes me think about summertime. How I wish it was summer. Oh, I can't wait for it.

As soon as I got home, I went straight to the laptop so I better get change now. I'll probably write about something totally random later if I get the chance.

Lord, thank you for the beautiful, stress free day - so far that is.

Shen's Old Blog

Upon opening my inactive Friendster account, I found out that I actually did have a blog.

The posts there are around a year old or so.

I find it interesting to read about my past. Don't get me wrong, I don't like History. :P

January 15, 2010 - Friday!

Seeing that I haven't posted a blog in two days or so, i'm gonna combine the major things that happened to me in those days and put them all in one post. Cleverly lazy, right? Haha.

So Wednesday was sorta normal. You know, just the usual thing. I never liked normal, I always wanted something different but hey, I can't change that now. Or maybe it's just that I don't remember much of what happened to me on Wednesday. That's the problem with me. I forget pretty quickly.

Thursday, was fine. I mean, the flush-every-toilet-to-waste-water plan worked. We got sent home at around 1:30 because there was no water in our school. We just jumped and screamed when we heard the good news.

Oh, I remember something. It was Thursday morning when I couldn't find the other pair of my school shoes. It's a really stupid problem I have - losing things. In fact, I might actually create a separate blog post about my clumsiness. But this time it wasn't something small I lost, it was a shoe. Up until now, I still have no clue where it is.

And finally, Friday

This morning, our year head handed out a form to us. It was regarding the Swine Flu vaccinations. It'll be taking place next week, she told us. Crap, I thought to myself. I never liked needles, I don't think any girl does. But I'm thinking my Mom would want me to get the vaccination. Yikes. So tonight, I decided that for my own good, I'm gonna do a mini-research about that Swine Flu vaccine. Just to be on the safe side. Only when i'm finally convinced will I give my mother the form.

And also, the rest of our Christmas exams were handed out today. In fact, the only result I haven't received yet is for Science. Not to be bragging or to be proud but i'm actually quite happy with my results. In some parts, I thought I would have done worse while in others, I thought I would have done better. It's only a Christmas exam, right? I'll do better next time, that's a promise.

You know what I hate? Fire drills during winter when it's bleeding cold. We had one this morning and I just hate it. Our English teacher, Mr. G, said, ''Snow. Rain. And now, a bloody fire.''

Here's a bit about Mr.G.
A funny man who's been teaching since who knows when in our school. He likes wearing a suit and, according to me, he is more happy when wearing one. He's this Latin expert though he teaches English. He likes American people and loves to talk about the difference of Americans and Europeans, like their spelling differences. He's mostly found roaming the Columba with red cheeks. And I like him because, he raised my score in my Christmas Exam. :)

So then, after school, Jenise and I went window-shopping. We were only window shopping because we didn't have any money with us. We were mostly looking for dresses and we found a few. But the one I liked best was the one in Jane Norman. Wish I had the money for it.

Before I end this, I wanna say:
The person who makes you so damn happy is also the one who takes your happiness away.

January 12, 2010 - Tuesday

Last night, I went to bed at around twelve. I was just there with my eyes closed, thinking about life. I was also thinking of sleeping but actually sleeping, that I could not do. Why? I don't really know. Luckily, after thirty minutes of tossing and turning in my bed, I finally fell asleep... for a bit.

Yup, that wasn't the end of my little insomnia.

I awoke suddenly, looked out my window, thought it was around four or five already but no. I checked the time in my mobile phone - one o'clock. Oh great, I said to myself. I tried so hard to make my self fall asleep but all tricks failed. I tried the oldest trick in the book in great hope I was gonna succeed. I counted sheep. Epic phail.

So, for about two hours, I was in my bed tossing and turning while I wished for sleep to come to me.

Then and only then, I remembered this method I had of making myself fall asleep.

It was by thinking about myself in a bed thinking about myself thinking about myself thinking and so on.

Sounds really confusing but guess what? It worked.

Next thing I know, I wake up to the voice of my brother saying, ''Pahiram ng cellphone mo.'' He wanted my phone for some reason. I searched for my mobile and then handed it to him with my eyes half open. I rubbed my eyes and eventually sense entered me. ''Bakit? Ano gagawin mo?'' He was halfway out my room pressing buttons in my phone. He didn't bother answering me.

I was actually pretty happy when I left my house to go to school. The reason behind the happiness was that class starts at eleven unlike the usual time.

But damn, the wind was so harsh this morning.

I waited for the bus for about thirty minutes. Every other bus number came except my bus number. I felt completely numb because of the coldness. But when the bus did arrive, I sort of celebrated by jumping up and down, I was just so happy.

School was fine today, not much of a terror. They're probably going easy on us 'cause it's our first day back. But whatever.

I'm thinking I said way too much or went too detailed in some parts.
So I'll just end this by saying this thing I've wanted to say for a long time:
There's this invisible barrier between us that stops me from liking you more than friends. It's really good to know it's there 'cause if it hadn't, damn, i'd have a broken heart right now.

Love Quotes

I found these love quotes, thanks to Google. They made me go 'awww'.
So, I was like, if it made me go 'awww', it's worth posting up here.

I climbed up the door & opened the stairs,
Said my pajamas & put on my prayers.
Then I turned off the bed & crawled into the light.
All because you kissed me goodnight.

I'll let you know when that happens to me. :)

Here's another one:

You know it's meant to be when during the times you can't stand him he's the only person on your mind.

So very true.

The truly painful goodbyes are the ones that are never said and never explained.

I know that for sure, I've experienced that kind of goodbye.

A broken heart is better than no heart at all.

Yeah, at least you had a heart to break in the first place.

I'll love you forever.
That's the problem.

In fact that's quite true for some circumstances.

Love - a wildly misunderstood although highly desirable malfunction of the heart which weakens the brain, causes eyes to sparkle, cheeks to glow, blood pressure to rise and the lips to pucker.

Bloody brilliant. :)

Laugh Out Loud

Woo, my first blog - ever! So, for my first blog ever, I decided to take a really random topic.

Laugh Out Loud - LOL

LOL, abbreviation for Laugh Out Loud is a very common internet slang.

Some refuse to use it, many use it while others abuse it.

By abusing its use, I mean this:
MissLOLaLot : Guess what? LOL.
AnnoyedFriend : What?
MissLOLaLot : My goldfish died. LOL.
AnnoyedFriend : Why are you saying 'LOL' then?
MissLOLaLot : I don't know. LOL.

A few others question the use of LOL.

One man says, ''How many are really laughing out loud when they say LOL?''

While another says, ''A user who types LOL may well be laughing louder than one who types lol.''

In my opinion, LOL, ROFL and other abbreviations such as those are fine to use so long as they are not overused. But do try to avoid using them when writing formal letters or anything that requires formality.

But hey, 'lol' actually has a meaning in some languages.

Such as in Dutch, lol means fun, lollig meaning funny.
While in Welsh, lol means nonsense, rwtsh lol meaning utter nonsense.

You're most likely saying 'lolwut' right now.
